Jeison Aristizábal has been named CNN’s hero of the year. Aristizábal, 33, is from Cali, Colombia and he’s changing the world for the better one day at a time. He has cerebral palsy. And although doctors gave his parents very little hope about his future, that didn’t stop Aristizábal from pursuing his goals. He is the founder of ASODISVALLE (Association of Disabled People of the Valley), a nonprofit that helps persons with disabilities. His foundation provides education, therapy, meals, job training, and has a medical clinic.
Aristizábal is going to law school as he plans on shaping policies to better assist people with disabilities. CNN has named him hero of the year, deservingly so, as he is most certainly— un orgullo Latino!
