Latinos who are Roman Catholics LOVE attending La Misa del Gallo (Rooster’s Mass). La Misa del Gallo is a mass given on Christmas Eve (December 24th) at midnight every year. It is said that Pope Sixtus III introduced this custom to Rome by celebrating Christmas in a night vigil after the cockcrow. Ki-Ki-Ri-Ki for that one and stay awake if you can, no booze allowed in church buddies. If you’re tipsy don’t go to la Misa del Gallo.
