When I was a child and I wanted to go to a friend's sleepover, FORGET IT. It's out of the question. My parents didn't allow it. I'd get the usual, "Why do you want to sleep in someone else's bed? You have a bed at home!" It's not that Latinos don't understand the concept of a pajama party, they do. They just don't trust total strangers with their children. In a sense, many Latino parents tend to be overprotective. While some Latinos are okay with this, the majority aren't, so don't have your children ask Latino children or teenagers to stay the night. They can't. It's not something Latino parents are fond of.
