Latinos LOVE el Pilón. A pilón is a mortar and pestle used to smash our plantains, avocado, garlic, or any food that needs grinding to prepare our dish. It's almost like a manual food processor, except it doesn't cut food for you, one has to mash it. The name for this product varies by country, in Puerto Rico it's called "pilón." The stone version of it is called in Mexico a "Molcajete and Tejolote." What do you guys call it?
