San Juan's Mayor Says, "We are dying, and you are killing us with the inefficiency and bureaucracy"
Carmen Yulin Cruz, San Juan's Mayor, exclaims, "We are dying, and you are killing us with the inefficiency and bureaucracy."<span data-mce-type="bookmark" style="display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;" class="mce_SELRES_start"></span> San Juan's Mayor, Carmen Yulín Cruz asked members of the press to send a Mayday call. The people in Puerto Rico are dying. President Trump states he is helping the island. But is not moving swiftly to send the help needed and every second counts. PR is in dire need of help. FEMA sent limited supplies, but when the mayor informed them that she was going to call the media, they sent in a few more pallets.
Cruz found herself pleading,“So, Mr Trump, I am begging you to take charge and save lives. After all, that is one of the founding principles of the United States of … America. If not, the world will see how we are treated not as second-class citizens but as animals that can be disposed of. Enough is enough.” Cruz stated she has had enough with political correctness, "I am done being polite, and I am done being politically correct. I am MAD AS HELL because my people’s lives are at stake." She called this genocide.
The Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rossello, is more submissive to the administration, but either way is not receiving rapid response from the White House or sufficient assistance. This is not the time for empty promises, but for action and the administration is lacking greatly in this area, which prompted the mayor to add:
"We are dying. And you are killing us with the inefficiency and bureaucracy."
