Sofrito is a green puree sauce made out of peppers, cilantro, onions, and garlic (ingredients vary). Sofrito and Adobo is to Latinos what salt and pepper is to the rest of the nation. Is nearly impossible for us to cook without sofrito. We make this green sauce and add it to rice, beans, or any of our specialty plates that require special seasoning. It is the secret ingredient in many of our dishes.
This spice is super nice. However, it doesn't taste good alone, and too much of it will make the food taste bad. So you need to know how to add the right amount. It must be kept refrigerated at all times and a jar that size (pictured above). It can last you up to 3 months!
