LATINOS love lighting candles in honor/form of worship to a saint or virgin. Whether it is for La Virgen de La Guadalupe, Virgin Mary or any other of their favorite saints. Now Latinos worldwide, don't go attacking us. NOT all Latinos believe in this sort of thing. So we exclude those who don't. But there are some who do and strongly believe that if they ask for a wish or make a prayer and light a candle with faith to the saint of their choice, in return the sacred figure will grant them their wish. It is something similar to a genie in a bottle, just a lot more meaningful and deeper. Oh yeah, and the genie gives you three wishes, the candle is just good for one.
